Ismail S. K. Bustany

Ismail Bustany received his Ph.D. in EE from UC Berkeley. He is an AMD Fellow specializing in physical design, computationally efficient optimization algorithms, hypergraph partitioning, and AI for CAD. He serves on the ICCAD Executive Committee, was the International Symposium on Physical Design general chair (2019), DAC Physical Design and Verification Track Chair (2022-2025), and has served on various technical program committees. He has organized 4 physical design/MLCAD student competitions. He has co-authored 30+ papers; holds 3 patents and is an associate editor of IEEE TODAES journal.
