Presentation Prep
General Information OF ICCAD
The ICCAD 2020 will take place purely virtual this year to reflect the current COVID-19 situation.
The presentations of all ICCAD papers are prerecorded this year. Each registered attendee of ICCAD will get access to all presentations via the Whova platform starting from Monday, October 26, one week before the actual conference start date.
Each paper is only briefly introduced within the individual 30 minutes technical session (cf. agenda on https://iccad.com/agenda by a pitch talk of max. 90 seconds and followed by five minutes Q&A. All live sessions will also be streamed via the Whova platform.
All the pitch talks are prerecorded to ensure a smooth operation during ICCAD. The individual pitch talk is then live broadcasted to the audience during the technical session. Thus, the interested attendee is asked to watch the full presentations in advance to the technical session.
SLIDE REGULATIONS
Please note the following regarding your presentations:
Please note if the presentation guidelines are not used in the final pre-recorded video, your presentation may be removed from the program (which in turn will lead to a withdrawal of your paper).
- ONLY PPT, PPTX, or PDF files are allowed
- ONLY landscape (horizontal) orientation may be used
- We do not allow any information in the footer except for the page number. Everything else will just distract from the content of the slides
- Company/University name and/or logo may only appear on the title (first slide) page
- Please include your name/affiliation and a short bio to your second slide with an optional photo to introduce yourself to the audience
IMPORTANT DEADLINES
The important deadlines for the presentation preparation are as follows:
1) Draft slides due Friday, September 11
2) Final slides due Monday, October 5
3) Final presentation due Monday, October 12
4) Pitch talk due Friday, October 16
Please find further information about the specific Steps 1-4 below.
PRESENTATION REVIEW PROCESS
STEP 1: SUBMIT DRAFT SLIDES AND BIO FOR REVIEW
Deadline: Wednesday, September 16
Prior to the conference, the session chair will review each presenter's slides and provide feedback to the speaker.
- On Friday, September 11, the speaker will receive an email with instructions and a link to upload their presentation slides for review by September 16.
- When the session chair has completed their slide review, the speaker will receive an email notification to log back into the review site to view the session chair comments.
- Please contact the session chair if you do not hear from them with feedback by Wednesday, September 16. You will find their email at the top of the page where you upload your slides.
STEP 2: UPLOAD FINAL SLIDES FOR PRESENTATION AND ARCHIVE
Deadline: Monday, October 5
All speakers are asked to upload their final presentation slides so they can be included in the ICCAD Archive pages on iccad.com. Please upload slides to the same page you uploaded your final paper. If you need the link, please contact Sandy Owens
STEP 3: UPLOAD FINAL VIDEO PRESENTATION
Deadline: Monday, October 12
Your final video presentation is due by October 12. Final video files are required to be saved as an MP4 file. The maximum allowed file size is 200MB.
A maximum length of 20:00 minutes is allowed, while the video has to be at least 10:00 minutes long (strict).
It is critical that you follow the file naming convention for your presentation and video. The format of this convention is as follows, not following these guidelines may result in your presentation not being properly uploaded to the ICCAD program:
Video:
Assume that John Doe is giving an exemplary presentation talk on Monday at 8:00 am.
1A.1
The New Frontier in Electronic Circuit Design
Speaker:
John Doe – New York University, USA
His session number is 1A, and the talk number is 1. Hence, he would name his video file:
1A_1_Doe.mp4
If you don’t know your session number or talk number within the session, you can find it by searching the online Conference Program: https://iccad.com/agenda
Please also consider the best practices for AV recording:
https://iccad.com/audiovideo_recording_best_practices
STEP 4: UPLOAD PITCH TALK (FOR LIVE SESSION)
Deadline: Friday, October 16
Your (pre-recorded) pitch talk will be shown during your live session by your session moderator and is followed by a five-minute Q&A. Keep in mind that the audience may already have watched the full presentation and, hence, try to highlight the primary contribution of your work and stimulate the subsequent Q&A session by this pitch talk.
This pitch talk is due by October 16. Pitch talk files are required to be saved as an MP4 file. The maximum allowed file size is 40MB.
A maximum length of 1:30 minutes is allowed, while the video has to be at least 1:00 minute long (strict). You are allowed to present up to three slides during the pitch talk.
Apply the same name convention as stated in STEP 3, however, add the prefix
PITCH to the filename as follows: PITCH_1A_1_Doe
Considering the example of STEP 3 results in:
PITCH_1A_1_Doe.mp4
Once you have final video presentation and pitch talk saved please upload to: You will receive an email from sandy@mpassociates.com with full details as to where you will upload your video.
Note that your session moderator will review both videos. For the case that a video does not fulfill the guidelines as described in STEP 3 and 4, a further revision is obligatory.
Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact Sandy Owens sandy@mpassociates.com or the technical program chair’s adjutant, Sebastian Huhn huhn@informatik.uni-bremen.de.
